UGLK is committed to addressing the shortage of donor kidneys by increasing the number of viable kidneys available for transplantation.

 

With current methods, kidneys donated by out-of-hospital cardiac arrest victims must be secured within 30-60 minutes due to the deterioration of kidney function caused by warm ischemia.

 

UGLK have patented a technology for ex-vivo kidney perfusion that has been shown in pre-clinical studies to enable the restoration of kidney function after up to 4.5 hours of warm ischemia.

 

This technology has the potential to liberate the kidney donor pool.
